Day by Day

Posted by

Two days ago we had a miserable day of Irish proportions: freezing, dark, and pouring rain. Yesterday, the sun shone and we enjoyed the respite. The Irish winter lasts about six months of the year, so we are used to making the most of any sunshine.

With the horrendous news of the war, it would be easy to fall into paralyzing despair. It is hard to keep the heart steady. Yet, this is exactly what we must do: be aware of what is going on, feel empathy, and take action with compassion. Action can include prayers, sending light, making donations, signing petitions or doing anything else we can think of to call a halt to the madness. I’ve just heard that the N26 online bank is matching any donations to help.

It’s best not to think too far ahead. One day at a time is a better bet. Or maybe even one breath at a time, which brings us back to the present moment – where our power lies. Let’s give thanks for all our blessings as we reach out to help those in need. Blessings.
