The New World Story

Joseph Campbell found the same archetypal story all over the world in Hero with a Thousand Faces. The essence of the hero myth is The Challenge/The Call to Action, Refusing the Call, Crossing the First Threshold. Then comes Descent into the Underworld, Crossing the Return Threshold and Emerging Victorious with Gifts for the Tribe. We are hardwired for stories, whatever our culture. We have already crossed the first threshold whether we wanted to or not. Here we are in covid times.  I’m sure you have been getting gifs, meme and cartoons to beat the band, as have I. This one is special. Please have a look and let me know what you think. We can do this, one act of kindness at a time. One act of non-violent, non-cooperation with Big Business and their lobbies. Don’t underestimate your own power to create change, because if we all commit to small changes they add up collectively to big changes. Together we can create a new story to allow our tribe to survive and thrive seven generations from now. What we choose to do now as individuals, and accept from our political leaders, is critical.
